Maple Lake Township provides year around service to our accepted and legally recorded roads. There are some public roads in the Township where maintenance is not provided. Roads must be built to Township specifications to be a full maintenance road. They must be the proper width and be free of trees and other obstacles so large equipment can operate.
Roads are the main focus of local government. Each season brings a new challenge. In winter it is snow removal, which includes plowing and ice control. Other seasons include grading, spreading new gravel, dust control, mowing, culvert replacement, cleaning of ditches and tree and brush control.
One of the main obstacles in completing the maintenance cycle is road obstruction. This includes parking on roads or the right of way, especially around lakes. The placing of personal items or the planting of trees and shrubbery on right-of-way is prohibited. We ask that you read Township ordinances on restrictions.
If you have a complaint about our maintenance program, please bring it before the board of supervisors at our monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
If you have a question regarding maintenance, please call the clerk at (320) 963-3927 or if it is an emergency please call one of the Supervisors.
